Bank Holiday weather in Poynton

It is forecast to be dry and bright on Sunday and Holiday Monday - If so, we will be out to bring you your Poynton Whippy ice creams as usual.

Poynton Whippy Ice Cream

Started off the day at Bowerfield nursing home in Disley for their first anniversary. The residents, staff and guests all enjoyed their ice creams.
From there it was straight to Poynton high for the hungry, thirsty pupils at the end of a hard days study (we hope)

Finally the whippy van had a brisk trade around the homes of most residents and a brief visit to the Deva bowl skatepark.

It was a relief at 7pm when the engineer rang to service the whippy machine ready for the summer. The weather forecast for the Bank Holiday weekend is not too good at the moment so fingers crossed. The Whippy van will be out on Friday but Saturday may be cancelled if it is cold and raining as predicted.

Poynton Whippy

Is closed until Thursday for essential maintenance and cleaning. Over the past week we have overworked the whippy machine and run stock levels to the bare minimum.
We will be back Thursday fully re-stocked and ready to go.

The first "quiz" question

The picture above shows one of Poynton Whippys doggy friends enjoying his ice cream. The first five people to "name that dog" will win a 99
Sadly you will have to wait a few days as we are off till Weds/Thurs.

Poynton Whippy closed till Wednesday

It looks as though the Whippy Group, which includes Poynton Whippy will be moving to a new unit over the next few days. Sadly this means there will be no service.
We are working as fast as possible to get back to normal and apologise for any disappointment.

Saturday 15 May 2010

The sun stayed out CLOSED SUNDAY THROUGH WEDS/THURS

For most of the day which meant the Poynton Whippy was very busy.
Next week will bring the first question for the chance to win a 99. We are just waiting for a photo. It is not easy to post questions on the internet, as most kids can google the answer on their mobile phones. This makes it quite challenging to keep you all on your toes.

Lower park primary children covered Mr Whippy in Ice cream

As Mr Whippy struggled with the demand of around 200 plus children at lunch time, the ice cream exploded and covered Mr Whippy much to the amusement of the staff and children who were close enough to witness it.
Not to be deterred we carried on regardless and eventually managed to serve the endless queue of children that stretched around the playing field.
Mr Coulson served Emily a special twin 99 and the Poynton Whippy team presented her with a certificate and 8 tokens for free ice cream.
All in all a fantastic day with thanks to the staff for their assistance, and all the children for their patience, not forgetting Emily and her team who made it all possible.

Coming Soon - Win free 99's and other prizes in the Poynton whippy quiz

In the coming weeks we will be posting various quiz and challenges to the Poynton residents. There will be various ice cream treats for the winners. Keep watching!!

Thursday looks dry and bright

Poynton Whippy has started to put the new "Poynton whippy" signs on the van. It looks a lot better than the Blue Sky Ices, but it has been a nightmare removing them.
Friday should be an exciting day for the children at Lower Park primary, thanks to Emily who won the election to be Head for the day. Lets hope Mr Coulson behaves as a pupil, check out the full story here: - Lower Park Primary Election

Poynton Whippy goes from strength to strength

Although the weather was mixed, we had a busy weekend in Poynton. The sun helped for an hour or so on Sunday.
Monday brought the school only service as does Wednesday.
At the moment (Tuesday) is dry and bright. If it lasts to the afternoon and evening for the full street service, all the better
